Iryou Kei (医疗系) - style in Japanese music characterised by parts of medical attire incorporated into the bands' look, like eyepatches or lab coats. Musicians dress up as doctors and nurses. Outfits are often stained with red paint imitationg blood. This style is agressive and grotesque, hospital elements contribute to the psychodelic atmosphere, making band members look like psychopatic murderers. Musicians often don't refer to themselves as bands but as "hospitals", their fans "patients" who they "treat with their music" (sometimes they need the treatment themselves - greetings to Taa). Also band members often have their specialisations (head of the hospital, pediatrist and such).
Lyrics are as full of the medical imagery as lyrics. One of the most famous acts being LuLu and their song "Seishin Chintsuuzai", with it's lyrics plaing around with the word "pain". Instead of graning in pain, you can sing "itai itai itai", good fun. One of the more popular bands from the trend is Sex-Android.
